Companies are increasingly moving towards Microsoft Office 365. Help Employees Understand “Their” Gain

More often than not, IT departments announce initiatives and implement them across companies. However, the end users are clueless on why this initiative is being led at their organization. It is imperative for IT leaders to ensure that their proposition is well understood by the end users. You need to tell your folks “Their” gain due to Office 365 implementation.

Always Start with the Familiar Fields

Employees sometimes find it difficult to switch their style of working to an unknown horizon. The easiest method here is to identify where they are and where they intend to go. Identify what products they are familiar with and get them onboard with those products. You can then start training them on the unfamiliar products. For example, if a team of employees is using on-premises email and are managing their own servers with legacy functionality, but need to move to better functionality and compliance and controls, you can transition them to Office 365 using Exchange Online.

Communicate with Employees

The best way to help end users understand the value of Office 365 is to communicate with them. Send them articles, newsletters, internal communication ET all. Organize training programs for them and show them the system in live. They need to see it before they try and they need to believe that what they see is what they use.

Measure, Share and Repeat

Employees need to be involved in the feedback process. It is important for IT leaders to understand the user experience and think of ways to further the experience. Identify the early birds (people who adopt quickly) and let them speak on your behalf. Organize refresher sessions for end users and ensure that they are comfortable with the Office 365 suite. Measure the effectiveness of the program and ensure the stakeholders know that the program is adding value to the ecosystem.
